For some students, a summer job is a great way to gain work experience while earning extra cash. For others, it’s a financial necessity. At EKU, there’s something for everyone. Here are 12 student positions open this summer right here on the Campus Beautiful.
Summer Facility Assistant
If you’re a handy person who likes to fix things, there’s something for you too! EKU Housing & Residence Life is searching for a highly motivated individual to help maintain housing facilities. Keep the Campus Beautiful, beautiful. The best part? It comes with free housing. If you’re taking classes on campus, check this one out.
Summer Community Receptionist
Are you a people person with great customer service skills? EKU Housing and Residence Life is looking for students to staff the front desk in two summer residence halls. Night owls needed, as shifts are available during evenings, nights and weekends. You must be enrolled in Summer or Fall 2019 to apply.
Special Interest Instructor
EKU’s annual summer college-preparatory program for underserved students is looking for students to teach “special interest” classes for students attending the program, such as music or fitness. About 15 students will attend each class, scheduled for June 13, 20 and 27. Don’t know much about “special interests?” Don’t worry! Training sessions will be provided before classes start.
Student Worker at Student Life & First Year Experience
Future employers love to see office work experience on your resume. The office of Student Life & First Year Experience is looking for summer help with day-to-day office duties. Student workers will help with marketing materials and event planning, and help out at the Colonel Cupboard.
Colonels Now Lab Assistants and Tutors
Maybe teaching is more your speed. EKU is looking for Lab Assistants and Tutors in English, Reading or Mathematics for the EKU Colonels Now summer program. Tutors and Lab Assistants will help instructors with several important tasks. Graduate or undergraduate students may apply, subject to minimum GPA or certain course grades requirement.
A summer job doesn’t always mean you have to give up pool time. The University Club at Arlington is searching for certified lifeguards. Apply if you have current Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid & CPR certifications.
Summer Clerical & Orientation Assistant
Love helping others? The NOVA Student Support Services is looking for someone like you. The office is hiring a student worker to provide orientation and administrative support and help students at NOVA programs. Previous administrative experience is preferred, but not required.
Foster Music Camp Counselor
Are you just singing to the skies your joy for music? Help share your passion with middle school and high school students. The Foster Music Camp is looking for camp counselors. Open to all EKU music majors, minors, or even graduates.
Team Leaders, Camino Camp
¿Habla Inglés y español? The Camino camp is searching for bilingual team leaders! Work with rising high schoolers and incoming freshman to ensure their transition to college is a successful one. Duties include supervising campers, assisting in instruction, and providing valuable feedback to students.
Science and Math Camp Student Assistant
Maybe science and math light your fire. If that’s you, the Dean of College of Science is searching for students to help with science and math camp this summer. Share your passion with rising high school juniors and seniors, and help ensure a wonderful experience for the campers. Apply if you’re free June 2-7th, 2019.
SUMMER 2019 Admissions Recruitment Ambassador (ARA)
Showcase your Colonel Pride this semester and be an ARA! As an ARA you are an EKU student leader, providing tours and assisting with recruitment efforts for EKU. ARA’s are a proven influence in prospective students decision to attend EKU. Must be enrolled as a full-time student at EKU.
Calling all future educators! The Department of Academic Testing is searching for students interested in the field of education, developmental educational or student personnel services. Student workers will be responsible for proctoring tests such as the GED, LSAT, ACT, and University placement tests. If you have strong communication skills, this may be the job for you.
