If you’re currently enrolled at another college or university and want to make the most of your summer, you can take courses at EKU and easily transfer the credits back to your home institution. Whether you're from central Kentucky and coming home on your break or just want to take advantage of everything EKU Summer has to offer, we welcome you as a visiting student. Here are the top five reasons you should take summer courses at EKU.

1. Affordable Tuition Costs

You may be able to complete some of your required courses for less than your home institution’s tuition. Take advantage of EKU’s competitive and affordable tuition rate. For 2022, EKU Summer courses start at $394 per credit hour for in-state undergraduate students and $417 per credit hour for online courses.

2. Flexible Course Options

Have plans this summer? Take the courses you need without interfering with jobs, trips, or other summer commitments. EKU Summer offers several course formats and options to work with your schedule. Choose from various six- and eight-week terms and traditional, web-blended, or 100% online courses.

3. Knock Out Your Gen-Eds

Get ahead of your course load by taking your general education classes in the summer! By knocking out some of your gen-eds, you’ll free up space on your course schedule which could help you achieve your degree faster. Some gen-eds offered through EKU Summer include biology, English, history and so much more!

4. Transfer Credits Easily

You can easily transfer the credits you take at EKU back to your home institution. Check with your advisors to make sure the courses you take will count toward your degree requirements.

5. Keep Making Progress On Your Degree

If you’re looking to fast-track your degree, keep making progress by taking courses in the summer and alleviating your course load throughout the academic year.
